UAE duo accused of stealing ice cream worth 111,000 dirhams

Two men have been accused of stealing ice cream worth 111,000 dirhams in Abu Dhabi, Khaleej Times reported on Monday.

One of the men, a salesman hailing from an Asian country, is also accused of bribing the other with 5,000 dirhams to mount a cover up. He told a court he asked the other accused to remain mum till he had returned the missing ice cream.

The salesman said the other man had agreed and no sum was exchanged. He also told the court he had returned the missing ice cream.

Agreeing with what the salesman had to say, the other accused requested court to grant him bail.  The hearing was adjourned till October 17 after.
