Teacher, son die while eight others sustain injuries

QUETTA: At least two people were killed and eight others injured after a pick-up vehicle toppled down in the Lagap area of Chagai district on Tuesday.

According to Levies, a speeding pick-up, carrying passengers, overturned in Pak-Iran bordering town of Chagai, leaving a teacher Lal Muhammad and his son dead and eight students injured.

Six, including women, kids, killed in accident

The injured and dead had been shifted to the Prince Fahad Hospital Chagai for medical treatment while the bodies of the teacher and his son had been handed over to the heirs.

“The accident occurred due to reckless driving and speeding by the driver, who was dropping off the students and teacher after picking them up from school,” Levies said, adding that investigation was under way.

Balochistan has a high number of mortalities in road accidents due to reckless driving by drivers of passenger coaches and pick-up vehicles. A study revealed that more people have died in road accidents than bomb blasts in Balochistan in a decade.
