The Punjab government has constituted a two-member team to probe former prime minister Nawaz Sharif's Adiala Jail 'photo leak'.

The 'leaked' photos feature Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hanif Abbasi, incarcerated in connection with his involvement in ephedrine quota case, paying a 'VVIP visit' to Nawaz on the day of his release.

AIG Safdar Nawaz and DIG Feroz Shaukat will look into the matter. They will arrive in Rawalpindi today (Friday). Action will be taken following the presentation of a report in 72 hours.

Earlier in July, an anti-narcotics court handed down a life term to Abbasi in the eight-year-old case. Seven other accused were given benefit of doubt.

ANF officials later arrested the PML-N leader, who stood disqualified from participating in the July 25 general elections post conviction, from the court. He was taken to Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail after.
