‘Ghusal’ ceremony at Data Darbar

Punjab chief minister Usman Buzdar and provincial ministers among those in attendance

LAHORE: The ritual washing of the shrine of Hazrat Data Ganj Baksh was held in the provincial capital on Thursday, ahead of the saint’s 975th Urs celebrations.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, provincial ministers Mian Muhammad Aslam Iqbal, Pir Syed Saeedul Hassan Shah, the Punjab chief secretary, Auqaf and Religious Affairs Department Secretary Abdul Zulfiqar Ahmad Ghuman and Auqaf Department Director General Dr Tahir Raza Bokhari were present at the occasion.

The shrine was washed with rose water and special prayers were offered for the peace and prosperity of the country.

Special pakwans and sabeels were arranged for devotees in and around Data’s shrine. Mehfal sana and naat khawani was also organised in which renowned naat khawans from all across the country participated.
