COAS in China: PLA chief lauds security provided to CPEC projects

People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Chief Gen Han Weiguo on Monday appreciated high degree of security being provided to China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects by the Pakistan Army.

Gen Weiguo also expressed his keen desire to benefit from the Pakistani military’s combat experience during a meeting with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, who visited the PLA headquarters today, said a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Both commanders discussed regional security environment, security of CPEC and bilateral security cooperation during the meeting.

Army chief arrives in China on three-day visit

The PLA chief appreciated and acknowledged high professional standing of Pak Army displayed while combating terrorism. He also expressed his desire of expanding cooperation between the two armed forces.



Gen Qamar thanked his counterpart for hosting him and expressed that both armies have history of cooperation and there are vast avenues for further enhancing the same.

The Pakistani army chief was presented guard of honour upon arrival at PLA headquarters earlier today. He is scheduled to meet Vice Chairman Central Military Commission (CMC), Gen Zhang Youxia on Tuesday.
