Clean water scheme completed in Kurram

Protection wall also built to protect from possible floods in future.

PESHAWAR: The political administration of Kurram Agency has constructed a drinking water supply system for the provision of clean drinking water to 1,000 people in Khaderzai.

According to the Fata Secretariat Directorate of Information, a 61 metre protection wall has also been built in order to protect the area from possible floods in the future.

The project consists of the construction of a 91 metre deep well, a 2,500 gallon water tank and two 46 metre long protection spurs. It also includes installation of a 150 metre distribution pipeline and a 10 HP pump.

The administration has also launched a project for the construction of flood walls in Kanri Wam, Karam Khan Korrona, Dargumai Kach and FR DI Khan, which will benefit almost 2,500 people in the area. In order to create a sense of ownership in the community, the political administration hired local labour and worked closely with them to ensure quality and timely completion of the projects.

The people of Khaderzai appreciated the administration’s efforts and expressed gratitude for their involvement in the planning and implementation of both projects.
