LAHORE: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday met former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and daughter Maryam Nawaz at Jati Umrah to offer their condolences on the death of former first lady Kulsoom Nawaz.

With the Sharifs’ parole ending today, many other political leaders, including PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, also offered their condolences on Kulsoom Nawaz’s passing.

The PPP delegation, meanwhile, included Sherry Rehman, Rehman Malik, Latif Khosa and Qamar Zaman Kaira.

According to sources, Sharif and Zardari also had a brief discussion on the living conditions at Adiala Jail, and Sharif told Zardari that he was in a small barrack with barely enough space to lay the prayer mat. The former PM also told the PPP leader that he and his daughter could only meet once in a week, said the sources.

When asked to comment on what was discussed between Sharif and Zardari, senior PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah told The Express Tribune that the conversation could not heard by any other leader, and he too was not aware of the details.

Sanaullah also said that the PML-N was not demanding extension in the parole of Sharif, Maryam and Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar.

Nisar Alvi | 6 years ago | Reply Nawaz is not Innocent and did commit serious corruption crimes against people of Pakistan. Asif, Bilawal and Nawaz helped each other in committing these crimes. At the funeral of Kalsoom, I hope they realised their crimes against poor nation of Pakistan and committed to return looted money to Pakistan. In the end they saw that Kalsoom could not take any money with her in her grave.
