Urban development: CM meets Chinese general consul
Karachi Circular Railway and further projects to be taken up by Murad Ali Shah
KARACHI:
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Friday said that he was taking up the projects of Karachi Circular Railway (KCR), Dhabeji Economic Zone and Keti Bandar where he had left them at the end of his last tenure as CM. This he said during a meeting with Chinese Consul-General Wang Yu at the CM House.
He said that the KCR was the most important project for the city. “It was included in China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and then delayed due to some reasons but now the time has come to take it up once again,” he said, adding that the project of Keti Bandar and Dhabeji Economic Zone were also his priorities. He told the consul-general that land and funds had been allocated for the development of infrastructure at the special economic zone at Dhabeji.
The consul-general said Chinese authorities were keen to complete the CPEC projects.
