PESHAWAR: A young man and a teen-aged girl was killed on the outskirts of Peshawar on Wednesday for allegedly having an illicit relationship with the police terming it a case of honour killing

The Badhabher police said that a 14-year-old Zakia and her alleged paramour, 24-year-old Azharuddin — who hailed from Akka Khel area of Khyber — had been killed near the Sheikhan police post, apparently by relatives of the girl.

“We have been told that two men fired at the couple killing them both on the spot,” stated a police official, adding that they had little doubt that this was a case of honour killing.

“An FIR is yet to be registered by the family but the police have inspected the crime scene and the dead bodies of the couple are being sent for autopsy,” he said, adding that both the attackers made good their escape after committing the crime.
