Gunned down: Journalist murdered in near Kabirwala

A senior journalist of an Urdu daily and former Multan Press Club president Saeed Butt was shot dead on Monday night by two assailants at a shop in Abdul Hakeem area.
His funeral prayers were offered by famous religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel at Railway Ground Abdul Hakeem. On the orders of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, Kabirwala Assistant Commissioner Chauhdry Abdul Ghaffar attended the funeral prayer.
Police said Butt, 48, was present at a shop in the main market of Abdul Hakeem, a sub-district of district Khanewal. That was when two suspects entered the shop and demanded money. The victim handed over his wallet, but the suspects demanded more money which he refused. As a result, the two gunmen opened fire and left Butt in an injured state.
