LAHORE: Nurses employed at Jinnah Hospital’s nursing ward protested against the lax security arrangements after another robbery was reported at the staff’s hostel on Tuesday.

The nurses protested outside of the hostel and held placards denouncing the state of security at the hospital. Despite being informed about the situation, the administration has not made any efforts to tighten security, nurses claimed. Due to this, the hostel has been broken into several times.

A nurse said that the thieves usually enter the hostel in the dead of the night, around three in the morning. She added that up till now, the burglars have stolen laptops, cell phones and other valuables, the protesters maintained.

“We have repeatedly informed the hospital administration and have asked them to beef up security. However, it has all fallen on a deaf ear,” she claimed.
