HYDERABAD: A beauty parlour's male owner, arrested in Sukkur district on Sunday for recording videos of female customers through hidden cameras installed in the washroom, has allegedly filmed and blackmailed 70 women.

The police investigator sought a seven-day physical remand of the suspect, Kamran Yousufzai, but ended up receiving only a four-day remand from the court on Monday, it was disclosed to the local media.

The B-section police produced Yousufzai before the court and read out the initial charge sheet. Yousufzai owns Sonia Parlour which is located in the commercial area on Mission Road.

The police geared into action after SSP Syed Asad Raza Shah took notice of a complaint. The police raided on Sunday the parlour and seized the cameras, recordings and bottles of liquor.

The suspect extorted money from the female customers after recording their videos. CIA's in-charge Hafeez Chachar told the media that a woman informed the police about Yousufzai's blackmailing and also shared a video. "His mobile phone was connected with the hidden camera," he said.

He said the FIR contained sections of sexual harassment and Hudood ordinance. "We are also investigating whether the female beauticians were involved with Yousufzai's activities or not."

According to him, the Wifi cameras were connected to Yousufzai's mobile phone through an application. He also used to watch live videos, he added.

Bilal Mir Laghari, the police spokesperson, said that more than a dozen videos were found stored in Yousufzai's mobile. According to him, the customers mostly used the washroom to change clothes.

Talking to local media at the police station, Yousufzai said he bought and installed the hidden camera four to five months ago. He reportedly admitted to recording the videos.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah took notice of the matter on Monday and directed the Sukkur DIG to submit a report.
