Two commit suicide, two electrocuted in Faisalabad

The police hands over the bodies to their relatives for burial after completing the legal procedure

FAISALABAD: A woman and a man committed suicide in separate incidents in Faisalabad on Saturday. Police said 20-year-old Shadi Bibi of Akbar Town and 25-year-old Ghulam Qadir of Chak No 92-RB swallowed poisonous pills over domestic disputes. Later, they died in hospitals. The police handed over the bodies to their relatives for burial after completing the legal procedure. Meanwhile, two persons were electrocuted in separate incidents in the city on Saturday. Police said that 27-year-old Muhammad Nadeem of Muzaffar Colony was busy in domestic work on the rooftop of his house when he accidentally touched a high-voltage electricity wire passing near the house. He received a fatal electric shock and died on the spot. In another incident, 40-year-old labourer Muhammad Sharif of Mohallah Hussain Abad, Tandlianwala, was busy in unloading sheets from a truck when he accidentally touched a live electricity wire passing near the truck. He died instantly. The bodies were shifted to nearby hospitals.
