Energy Assistance: Less developed regions in focus

Electricity will be supplied to the agriculture sector in order to improve the socio-economic conditions of farmers

KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon said that 1,210 villages will be provided with gas till the end of the current financial year.  Talking to various delegations on Tuesday, Memon said so far 682 villages had been provided with gas in development schemes, and work was nearing completion to provide gas to another 528 villages.  Electricity will also be supplied to the agriculture sector in order to improve the socio-economic conditions of farmers, according to Memon who said that till the end of current financial year, 2,595 villages would be supplied with electricity, 1,773 villages had already been supplied, and work was underway to provide electricity to 822 villages.
