SARGODHA: The Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and University of Sargodha have (UOS) have joined hands to enhance institutional capacities in the seed sector.

In this regard, on Friday, a collaboration agreement was signed for two years. UOS Vice Chancellor Dr Ishtiaq Ahmed and FOA Representative Mina Dowlatchahi signed the agreement. The collaboration builds upon FAOs experience in developing the capacity of the Federal Seed Certification and Registration Department to facilitate seed and plant supply industry regulation.

Speaking on the occasion, Dowlatchahi said: "This collaboration will present opportunities to small holder-farmers in the area and help promote entrepreneurship and provide employment to young people."
