Youth to be offered soft loans

LAHORE: A comprehensive industrial policy will soon be finalised, which will create employment opportunities for the local population, said Provincial Minister for Industries, Trade and Investment Mian Aslam Iqbal, while presiding over a meeting at the Civil Secretariat, on Thursday. During the meeting, proposed industrial policy, promotion of investment, training programme of Technical Educational and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) were discussed. Iqbal said the youth would be empowered through a soft-loan programme, which will be launched soon. The future of Pakistan’s development is linked with the promotion of technical education and creating awareness among people about the importance of technical education, he said and added, “Darkness of poverty, ignorance and unemployment can be eliminated through the promotion of technical education.”
