Culprits dump body in canal after heinous crime

SARGODHA: A 14-year-old boy was murdered after allegedly being gang-raped in Sargodha, police told Express News on Thursday.

While giving details, a police official said that victim A*, a resident of Halalpur, was abducted by accused Aqeel and his two accomplices. He added the culprits took the victim to an undisclosed location where they allegedly sexually assaulted him.

The official that maintained after the committing the offence, the culprit murdered the boy and dumped her body in Khardar Branch Canal within the Midh Ranjha police station limits.

The police registered a case against the accused on complaint of victim’s grandfather Muhammad Akbar and started an investigation.

Meanwhile, Kot Momin DSP Saleem Akbar had assured the family of the victim that justice will be provided to them. He said the victim’s body had been recovered from the canal and sent for a post-mortem at rural health centre, while further details would be revealed after a medical report from the hospital.

He added that the accused will be awarded stern punishment for committing the heinous act.

He instructed the police officials to utilise all resources to arrest the culprits at the earliest. In a similar incident that occurred a few months ago, a five-year-old girl was murdered after reportedly being raped in Faisalabad.

The police said that victim F*, a resident of Muzaffar Colony, was playing outside her house when an unidentified suspect, riding a motorcycle, abducted her. He added the accused took her to an undisclosed location where he reportedly raped her.
