Celebrities all across the country have been lauding the minister for information and broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry after he spoke of minority representation in Pakistan.

SC clears PTI's Fawad Chaudhry to contest polls

Earlier this week, Pakistan People's Party's (PPP) senior leader Shehla Raza criticised Atif Mian's inclusion in the Economic Advisory Council (EAC). "Five million homes, 10 million jobs and the lie of creating the South Punjab province in 100 days was foreseeable," she wrote. "But nobody expected the hypocrisy of Imran Khan - who claims the State of Medina as his ideal - to appoint the great grandson of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani as his closest advisor."

Raza later deleted her tweet, claiming it was her media team that had used senseless and demeaning words on the social media platform.

Chaudhry then slammed Raza.  "Should we throw minorities out of the country? Atif is part of our economic council. The world is raving about him. People who say negative things about minorities are extremists. Every Muslim has a duty to protect minorities," he said.

Local celebrities have since been lauding the minister for his response. Actor Osman Khalid Butt stated that Chaudhry's words "gave him hope."

Activist Jibran Nasir also shared his two cents on the matter. He wrote, "More power to Fawad Chaudhry and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for their clear stance on Atif Mian's inclusion in EAC. All progressive forces should support the government on this. We have been demanding PTI to make amends and when it is starting to do so, they deserve all the support."

Comedian Shafaat Ali stated he was proud of Chaudhry's stance.

Cake actor Adnan Malik was all praises for him as well. He tweeted, "Fawad Chaudhry responding to the press about having an Ahmadi on the EAC is positive and proactive. Bravo, Minister of Information and the new government!"
