The Punjab Health Department has decided to launch an anti-measles campaign across the province starting from October 15.

About the measles prevention initiative, Special Secretary Primary and Secondary Health Department Dr Ayesha Saeed said in a statement that the campaign will continue for 10 days.
Further, children between the ages of one and 10 years will be administered the measles vaccine.
Dr Saeed added that WHO, UNICEF and the Melinda Bill Gates Foundation are sponsoring the drive. "All the chief executive officers of district health authorities have been directed to form teams and submit their reports to the office," she maintained.

Punjab Minister for Health Dr Yasmin Rashid has taken notice of several suspected cases of measles in some areas and has directed officials to adopt preventative measure in order to eradicate the disease from the province.
