ISLAMABAD: A woman was injured after her estranged husband allegedly threw acid on her face. The victim, who was living alone with her child in Sector H-13, after separating from her husband, was allegedly attacked by him in the wee hours of August 28, according to the FIR.

She told the police that her husband was a drug addict and often demanded money from her. “On August 28 at 2:30 am I opened the door and my husband came in and suddenly threw acid on my face after which I fell unconscious,” the victim wrote in her complaint to the Shams Colony police.

A police officer said the woman bore a few bruises and small injuries on parts of her nose, forehead and cheek. The suspect has denied the allegation and has not been arrested yet.
