After the official allegedly demands Rs10,000 as bribe from a consumer

BAHAWALPUR: A law enforcement agency arrested an electric company official in Ahmedpur Sharqia for allegedly demanding  Rs10,000 bribe money from a consumer. Sources said that a man complained to the the federal law agency headquarters in Multan, that an official from the electric company had demanded Rs10,000. In return, the official said he will provide the complainant with free electricity from the transmission line. A team from the law enforcement agency reached Ahmedpur Sharqia and raided the official’s office, while the complainant was handing over the money. Further investigations into the matter are underway. Meanwhile, police arrested two drug peddlers from a market in Uch Sharif and confiscated 17 bottles of liquor found in their possession. Teams raided Shams Bagh market and apprehended the men. Police shifted the accused to Uch Sharif police station.
