The enforcement directorate of the civic body on Thursday demolished an allegedly ‘illegal structure’ built near the Gun and Country Club and a section of the wire fence erected nearby.Officials from the Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) Enforcement Directorate, along with heavy machinery including a bulldozer and a shovel demolished sections of a large, single-storied semi-finished structure located to the south-east of the gun club and directly to the south of the hockey ground. Last month, the Supreme Court had declared the gun club as illegal and directed that the club should be handed over to the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) since the club had been built on land leased to the board. This week, the apex court was told that the PSB possessed at least 60 acres of land more than the 145 acres it had been allotted by the CDA.
