Victimisation: FAPUASA demands protection of whistle-blowers

ISLAMABAD: The government should protest whistle-blowers, said a representative body of academic staff while expressing anger over the termination of the services of two professors of a university for making public the irregularities in the institution.

“We demand an immediate end of victimisation and exploitation of faculty and employees at COMSATS University Islamabad, International Islamic University Islamabad and Quaid-i-Azam University,” Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association (FAPUASA) Islamabad chapter President Dr Sohail Yousaf said.

He was talking to representatives of the faculty who shared various incidents of injustices, the firing of two faculty members of IIUI on whistle-blowing, denial of academic freedom, ad-hocism, stopping of salaries and harassment of faculty at Comsats University entrance.
