‘There should be no hurdles for patients’

Punjab Minister for Health says there will be no distinction of funding for on going health schemes

LAHORE: “There should be no obstacles for patients admitted to health facilities; all medical equipment should be functional,” said Punjab Minister for Health Dr Yasmeen Rashid.



She expressed these views while chairing an introductory meeting of officers at the primary and secondary health department on Wednesday.

Primary and Secondary Health Department Secretary Ali Bahadur Qazi briefed the minister on departmental programmes. During the meeting, the secretary informed the meeting that approximately 4.5 million patients visit DHQ and THQ facilities every month, while there are around 5,572 beds in district and tehsil public hospitals.

There will be no distinction of funding for on going health schemes all over the province,” she added.



“No one can understand the matters of the health department better than a doctor; Punjab’s health sector will become a role model for the other provinces,” she stated.
