Three, including two women, killed in name of honour

QUETTA: At least eight people were killed in six separate incidents of violence and mishaps in Balochistan during three days of Eidul Azha.

On Friday, at least three people, including two women, were killed in the name of honour in two separate incidents.

The first incident was reported in Quetta’s Shekhmanda, where a husband strangled his wife to death due to personal issues and managed to escape.

Four killed in separate road accidents in Balochistan

The police force along with rescue workers rushed to the spot and shifted the body to civil hospital for an autopsy. A manhunt is under way for Noor Muhammad’s arrest. The body was handed over to the heirs while an FIR has been lodged against Muhammad.

In another incident, a man shot and killed his wife and another man in the Goth Siyal area of Dera Murad Jamali in the name of honour and managed to flee.

Muhammad Zaman and the woman were on their way when her husband opened firing at them, killing both of them on the spot.
Police and rescue workers rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies to a nearby district hospital for autopsy.

An FIR has been lodged against the accused and efforts are under way for his immediate arrest.

Six labourers shot dead in Balochistan

On Thursday in road accidents, at least three people lost their lives in Kuchlak and Kech.

Muhammad Zaman was killed after his speeding car toppled down in Jalo Gir area of Kuchlak on the first day of Eid. While Abdul Qayyum and Abdul Kabir were killed after two motorbikes collided in the Lodi Jangja area of Kech on Thursday.

On Wednesday, unidentified armed men, riding a motorbike, opened fire at a man in the Kandawa area of Mastung and managed to escape.
Levies personnel said as a result, Sheikh Zayed Hospital, Quetta computer operator Muhammad Sadiq was killed on the spot. Later, Levies and other law enforcement agencies personnel reached the spot and shifted the body to a nearby hospital. The body was handed over to the heirs after completion of medico-legal formalities.

Levies lodged an FIR against unidentified persons and commenced investigation.

Separately, unidentified armed men shot dead Maulvi Shamsuddin, a resident of Kandawa. Levies reached the site and shifted the body to a nearby hospital, where after completion of legal formalities, the body was handed over to the heirs. The motive behind the murder could not be ascertained till the filing of this news story, but the Levies force has started investigations.
