370 Eid gatherings held in Bahawalpur

Hundreds of thousand people sacrifice their animals to commemorate the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim

BAHAWALPUR: In Bahawalpur Eidul Azha was celebrated with religious harmony and throughout the district 370 gatherings of Eid prayers were held. In Bahawalpur city, the biggest gathering was held at Main Eidgah. Prior to Eid prayer religious scholars delivered special sermons and shed light on the philosophy of Eidul Azha and sacrifice.

Following the Eid prayers hundreds of thousand people sacrificed their animals to commemorate the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him). Special sermons were given by the religions scholars at Eid prayers gatherings. Fool-proof security arrangements were made during the Eid holidays and no unpleasant or untoward incident was reported from the city during the three days of Eid.

Bahawalpur Waste Management Company’s workers remain active throughout the first two days of Eid and collected animal remains from the streets to keep the areas clean while large number of citizens visited orphanage and hospitals with the meat of sacrificial animals, sweets and other gifts and distributed among them.

Aside from police, Rescue 1122 was also on high alert. On the second day of Eid a large number of people visited Bahawalpur zoo, Laal Sonhara National Park and other recreational spots in the city amid security arrangements.
