According to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the team was on a routine search and clear operation as part of the ongoing Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad.
Havildar Ahmed Khan, 38, belonged to Mianwali district. He is survived by his wife, son and two daughters.
Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad, or Elimination of Discord, was launched in February 2017 after a sharp uptick in terrorist attacks in the country.

The firing also injured a passerby.
According to sources, Ghalib Khan and his relative Nausher opened fire on each other. As a result five people died on the spot.
