Sanitation: Waste managers ready for offal job

3,000 sanitary workers are deployed during the drive

RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) will remove around 15,000 tons waste in Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation and Rawalpindi and Chaklala cantonments board areas to keep the areas clean during Eidul Azha.

"The company has finalized a comprehensive cleanliness plan for Eidul Azha to get rid of entrails and offals of  the slaughtered animals.

All available resources will be utilised to accomplish the task," RWMC Managing Director Rizwan Sherdeel Khan said on Tuesday.

Around 3,000 sanitary workers are deployed during the drive, adding special honorarium would be given to them.

He said 45 additional dumpers, 150 mini dumpers, 250 handcarts, 40
compactors would be part of the special drive to remove the remains from every nook and cranny of the city.
