DIG says orders have been issued to all superintendents of police

NASEERABAD: Deputy Inspector General of Police Naseerabad Range Rao Munir Ahmed Zia has said orders have been issued to all superintendents of police to ensure strict security arrangements in the range during Eidul Azha.
“Protection of lives and property of citizens is the police’s top responsibility. Police has given countless sacrifices in the line of duty. For the protection of citizens, police is alert and active 24/7,” said DIG Rao Munir while talking to the media on Sunday.

“Along with government buildings, security has been beefed up at important places and patrolling has been increased,” he said, adding that special checking would be conducted at the entry and exit points of the city.
The DIG warned that strict departmental action would be taken against any officer found negligent in duty.
He said that “ensuring safety of the people is the duty of police” for which the “force has rendered numerous sacrifices”.

“Due to the sacrifices of the police, there has been a marked decline in the number of criminals,” said Rao Munir.
He said for Eidul Azha, heightened security and safety measures had been taken at shopping centres, cattle market, important business centres as well as in significant areas. “In this connection, police is on alert and patrolling has been increased on the national highway and other important areas, whereas, in sensitive areas, searching and sweeping will be conducted in order to avoid any untoward incident,” he added.

“Strict security measures will be in place for Eidul Azha prayers,” he said. “A complete crackdown against criminals will take place in the range. No leniency will be shown to any criminal element. Law is equal for everyone.”
He said police officers would have to ensure their own safety also along with the safety of the people so that no one gets an opportunity.
