PTI names Shah Farman as K-P’s next governor
PTI’s Spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry said Imran will forward advice to President Mamnoon Hussain
ISLAMABAD:
The ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday announced that the party’s former information minister in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) has been nominated to take up the mantle of the province’s governor.
Talking to media persons, PTI’s Spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry said that party chief Imran Khan, after taking the oath of the prime minister, will forward an advice to President Mamnoon Hussain for the appointment of Shah Farman as the new governor K-P while Imran Ismail would be recommended for appointment as the Sindh Governor.
Chaudhry said that Farman was the most suitable person to be appointed as the governor of the province and that he would play his constitutional role effectively.
He said that the PTI will take measures to address the grievances of residents of the erstwhile Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), noting that an important part of PTI’s election campaign was about completing the process of Fata’s merger with K-P and it would be fulfilled on a priority basis.
