The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday put forward Shah Farman as its nominee for the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) governor slot, Express News reported on Thursday.

The decision was taken during a consultative meeting chaired by the party chairman Imran Khan at his residence in Bani Gala, who ultimately approved to nominate Farman for the coveted post.

Meanwhile, the PTI has already nominated Imran Ismail as Sindh governor and Chaudhry Sarwar as Punjab governor. The nomination of Farman will complete the political setup in the province.

Farman served as the provincial information minister in the previous PTI-led government under then chief minister Pervez Khattak.

On July 25 elections, Farman won the PK-70 and PK-71 Peshawar constituency.

PTI's Mahmood Khan elected K-P chief minister

He, however, lost the PK-70 seat after a vote recount to Awami National Party’s (ANP) Khushdil Khan.

Earlier today, Mehmood Khan was elected as the new K-P chief minister. He bagged 77 votes against 33 of Mian Nisar Gul of the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA).

On Wednesday, PTI candidate Mushtaq Ghani was elected as the new speaker of the K-P Assembly, while Mehmood Jan was elected as his deputy.
