KARACHI: After the road-rage incident involving Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) MPA Dr Imran Ali Shah, a video has emerged which shows a woman claiming to be Shah's step-mother and accusing the lawmaker and his brother of manhandling and usurping her property.

The women, who identified herself as Dr Rehana Shah, claims to be the first wife of Imran's father. She claimed that Imran and his brother "confiscated the properties of the elder Shah in Pakistan, England and Dubai" and added that the two brothers forged documents to deny her and her son right to the properties.

"I have gone to the court and my case is pending there. My son and I are threatened by them [Imran Shah and brother]. I am more terrified since he has been elected as an MPA in my area. Believe me, I am really terrified. Anything can happen to me or my son anytime," claimed the first wife of Imran's father.

The party's senior vice-president in Sindh said that Imran had been suspended for a month after the road rage incident, however, the PTI's Karachi media department refuted the suspension.

Shehzad Memon, who heads party’s media department in Karachi, said Imran had been given 24 hours to submit a reply to the show cause notice and criticised the media for “spreading baseless rumours.”

PTI's central leadership also remained clueless as an unsure Fawad Chaudhry referred the matter to the provincial team while the head of central media department Iftikhar Durrani confirmed the suspension.

Imran drew attention after a video of him thrashing a citizen in the middle of the road near National Stadium in Karachi went viral on the social media, garnering severe backlash. The PTI served him a show cause notice.

In a video message, the lawmaker attempted to clarify the incident before apologising. He then visited the man's house accompanied by PTI Karachi president Firdous Shamim Naqvi to apologise in person.

Although the victim 'accepted' the apology, he lamented the state's role in the matter.
