PML-N pushes for Abbottabad raid probe

Ninety three members have signed the requisition, which was submitted by Anjum Aqeel Khan and Malik Abrar.

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) submitted a privilege motion against the non-implementation of Parliament's resolution to probe the US raid in Abbottabad.

A requisition was submitted in which the PML-N demanded that a National Assembly session should be called soon to discuss the non-implementation.

A total of 93 members signed the requisition, which was submitted by Anjum Aqeel Khan and Malik Abrar which maintained that the parliament's resolution on the Abbottabad raid has not been implemented even after 14 days.

Earlier, Sharif criticised the government for failure to initiate a probe into the May 2 US incursion in accordance with the resolution adopted during the joint session of parliament’s secret session.

Sharif demanded the formation of an independent commission to investigate the raid.

The government asked PML-N to not push for an all-powerful independent commission as even the military establishment conveyed its reservations in this regard. The government also expressed its doubts on the names suggested by the PML-N for the commission.
