Pakistani wins one kilogramme gold in Dubai lucky draw

Prize worth about Dhs145,000 (approximately PKR4.8 million).

Syed Sarwar Hasan, a Pakistani visiting the Persian Gulf emirate of Dubai, has won one kilogramme of gold in a lucky draw, Khaleej Times reported.

The prize is worth around Dhs145,000 (nearly PKR4.8 million). Shoppers at Deira City Centre spending dhs200 and above were asked to redeem receipts to enter the draw.

In June, a Pakistani woman and an Indian man won $1 million in the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire draw at Dubai International Airport. Lamia Mustafa, a 34-year-old housewife from Karachi bought her second Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire ticket online with ticket number 4912, a number chosen on her husband’s date of birth. A regular participant to lucky draw, Mustafa could not believe her luck saying: “I never lose hope. I knew I'll win one day and this is the day.”

Pakistani who won $1m lottery in Dubai clueless about his prize

Arun Bhaskaran Pillai, a 31-year-old Indian national from Sharjah, works as a material controller. The man will be sharing the prize with four other friends. One lives in the UAE while the remaining three are based in the southern Indian state of Kerala. The four had bought ticket number 1882 together.

“This is unbelievable! I never thought this can happen to me but then it does. I can’t wait to share this good news to my friends,” Pillai said.
