QUETTA: An accountability court on Friday granted the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) 10-day physical remand of four officers of the food department for their involvement in a wheat embezzlement case.

Assistant Food Controller PRC Zhob Centre Gul Jan, Assistant Account Officer Shafiqur Rehman, District Food Controller Qilla Abdullah Naeem Alizai and Assistant PRC In-Charge Muslim Bagh Humayun Khan appeared before the Accountability Court Judge Munawar Ahmed Shahwani.

The NAB had submitted a plea in the court seeking physical remand of 14 days of the accused to proceed investigation into the wheat embezzlement case.

On NAB’s request, the accountability court granted physical remand of 10 days and adjourned the hearing till August 20.
