MUZZAFFARABAD: The Opposition leader in Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly (AJKLA) Chaudhry Muhammad Yaseen on Friday condemned the Indian government for changing the demography of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

He accused India of converting Muslim majority of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir into a minority for political gains.

Addressing the media, Yaseen said that Aricle 35A debate in Indian Supreme Court is just a bid of Baratiya Janata Party (BJP) and Modi government to open the way for the settlement of Hindus in Kashmir aimed to change its population ratio.

“Everybody knows that Jammu and Kashmir is a dispute between Pakistan and India and New Delhi must work for its permanent settlement than changing its population ratio,” he said.

AJK PM warns India not to abolish Article 35A

He said that the people of AJK will support the move of Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yaseen Malik for the defence of Article 35A. He added that besides the military might, now New Delhi is using its biased courts to suppress the people of Kashmir and the world must take the notice of judicial activism of India against the people of Kashmir.

Yaseen also appreciated the people of Occupied Kashmir for observing the matchless strike on August 5 and 6 on JRL’s call and termed it as a referendum against illegal occupation of India.

India should allow Kashmiris to decide their future: AJK PM

He appealed the European Union (EU), Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and other human rights organisations to take the notice of Indian judicial activism against the people of Kashmir.

He said that the BJP wants to break the will of Kashmiris and their undaunted commitment with freedom struggle which Yaseen said is impossible for the nation who sacrificed more than one lakh people since 1989 till now to achieve their goal.
