The Pakistan International Airline (PIA) transported passengers of a Hajj flight through another aircraft after one of its Boeing 777 plane faced technical difficulties at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore on Wednesday.
“Hajj flight PK 2057 from Lahore to Jeddah was delayed due to technical reasons on Wednesday afternoon,” said a statement issued by the spokesperson of the national flag carrier. “PIA regrets the inconvenience caused to its passengers.”
The pilgrims were transported through another Boeing 777 late evening from the Lahore airport. Due to smaller capacity of the aircraft with 300 seats, nearly 80 passengers have been further adjusted on another flight which will depart on Thursday Morning, the statement added.
Maintenance work on the plane was commenced immediately and the aircraft will be serviceable by tomorrow (Thursday), the spokesperson concluded.
