Three disheartened students ‘commit suicide’ over dismal exam results in Chitral

Search underway to find bodies of the deceased, rescue 1122 say

CHITRAL: Three students, who lived in different areas of Chitral, allegedly committed suicide after apparently getting disheartened by their intermediate exam scores.

A girl identified as Saliha Rehmat, a resident of Toor Kaho Reech, killed herself after scoring a low score in her exams. She was a first year student of Government College Chitral.

According to eye witnesses, the student jumped into a small river with a search underway to find the body.

Similarly, the second incident occurred in Sher Saal village of Karimabad, where a student of Jahan College, identified as Rafiul Din, allegedly took his own life.

Another girl, identified as Safoora from the Garam Chashma village, was disheartened by her exam results and decided to jump into a river from a bridge to commit suicide.

Rescue services have started a search operation to recover the bodies, but so far the divers have failed to retrieve the bodies despite concerted efforts.
