Governor Punjab seeks health update on BZU Vice Chancellor

He was found unconscious at his residence located within the premises of university

MULTAN: Punjab Governor and Chancellor Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) Malik Rafique Rajwana has sought report on the deteriorating health condition of BZU Multan Vice Chancellor Dr Tahir Amin. The VC, who has been admitted to the intensive care unit of Nishtar Hospital Multan, was found unconscious at his residence located within the premises of university two days ago.

BZU Director Public Relations Dr Sohaib Qadoos said Dr Tahir Amin consumed the dose of medicine twice unintentionally and fell unconscious. He was was first taken to Chauhdry Pervaiz Elahi Institute of Cardiology and later shifted to Nishtar Hospital Multan.

Nishtar Medical University VC Dr Mustufa Kamal Pasha said the condition of Dr Tahir Amin has improved but he would be kept under observation for the next 24 hours. The overdose of high potency medicine seemed to be the cause of unconsciousness and critical condition. He said that treatment has been started.
