Accused Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party leader and former QDA chairman Dr Hamid Achakzai, QDA Director General Imran Zarqoon and former QDA DG Noor Ahmed Parkani were present before the court. They are out on bail.
Former CM Raisani, ex-minister Khosa on NAB’s radar
National Accountability Bureau Special Prosecutor Rashi Zeb Golhra argued the case. The accused were provided copies of the reference, after which the case was adjourned till August 18.
The accused are likely to be indicted on the next hearing. They are accused of causing millions of rupees loss to the national exchequer.
Taking up another reference filed against former Excise and Taxation DG Mohammad Qasim Baloch over allegations of illegal registration of cars, Justice Shahwani issued non-bailable arrest warrants against the accused due to his absence during the hearing.
NAB leaving no stone unturned
The other day during the hearing, accused Assistant ATO Bashir Ahmed appeared before the court. The judge read out the allegations against him, to which the accused pleaded not guilty.
The court issued non-bailable arrest warrants for former DG Baloch due to his absence during the hearing. The hearing was adjourned till August 16.
The accused are nominated in the reference for illegally registering 618 cars.
NAB authorises inquiry against former IGFC Balochistan
In another case regarding embezzlement in funds for installation of tube wells, Quetta-I judge Shahwani acquitted former Irrigation Department deputy director Nasrullah over lack of evidence.
The other day, the court had reserved its judgment after listening to the arguments put forward by the lawyers of the applicants. The court announced its judgment on Thursday. Nasrullah was accused of embezzlement in funds allocated for setting up tube wells.
