Transgender individuals assaulted in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Three transgender persons were assaulted by a group of men in Peshawar’s Sarband area.

The victims stated that they were travelling when they were intercepted by another car and a motorcycle.

According to details, the unidentified men smashed the car windows and attacked the transgender persons with knives. One of the injured transgender persons alleged that the suspects also opened indiscriminate fire on them.

Transgender murder in Peshawar stirs concern

Peshawar Capital City Police Officer Qazi Jamilur Rehman took notice of the incident after the news went viral on social media.

A three-member team under the supervision of the deputy superintendent of police, Budh Beer Giranullah, has been formed to investigate the matter. Two suspects were arrested during the raids conducted to find the attackers and a probe is underway.

The CCPO said the assaulters will be apprehended soon.
