University of Turbat holds summer school

Students taught entrepreneurial solutions to overcome contemporary challenges

QUETTA: The University of Turbat organised a summer school in collaboration with an organisation named UDaan.

The first part of the summer school concluded on Tuesday while the remaining sessions will be conducted in the first and the second week of August. Students from different private and public colleges, schools and educational institutions across the province participated in the event.

The summer school comprises educational activities, interactive courses in which participants came together to acquire knowledge, enhance their skills and to develop the entrepreneurial solutions to overcome contemporary challenges they face as youth.



Inaugurating the summer school on 21 July at university’s main campus, Faculty of Science and Engineering Dean Dr Haneef Ur Rehman said, “The summer school is an educational program where the participants will learn innovative skills in various fields including philosophy, entrepreneurship, digital media, Blogging, digital skills for freelancing, prose writing in Balochi, modern skills in computer sciences as well as biological sciences.”

He thanked UDaan organisation founder Ms Granaz Baloch for cooperation and services rendered in organising such a thoughtful event at the University of Turbat.

During the first part of the summer camp, different sessions were conducted in which Danial Shah covered the theme of visual story telling for becoming a good photographer, documentary and short movie maker.



Irum Ali briefed the participants on how to write academic essays, tips or tricks of writing and the official way of emailing. Noor Us Sabah facilitated the participants to learn how to draw your imagination by using different objects and how one can change things visually by drawing on paper to design model structure.

Emina Baloch, a student of McGill’s University and part of the Career Leadership Program trained the participants about various techniques of writing a good CV for job and internship. She also shared her experiences as an international student in McGill’s University.
