KARACHI: Four persons, including three brothers, were whisked away by law enforcement agencies in an apparent case of enforced disappearance from Jamshoro and Larkana.

Ghulam Fatima Jathyal, mother of brothers Zahid, Shahid and Sajid, said at a press conference on Tuesday that her sons were taken away by the police and officials in plain clothes.

Pakistan urged to resolve cases of enforced disappearances

According to her, Zahid and Shahid were detained from Kotri, Jamshoro, while their third brother, Sajid, from Larkana district. The fourth detained person was identified as Asif Memon, Zahid's brother-in-law, according to his brother, Shahzad Memon.

"The police say they are unaware of the arrests. And the law enforcers who took them away didn't give any reason," Jathyal said, adding that her family neither has any enmity nor were the three brothers involved in any criminal or anti-state activities.

She said that the four young men are painters and rickshaw drivers by profession.

ASP Kotri Suhai Aijaz said that she is unaware of the detention.
