The case was heard by a four-member bench of the electoral body, headed by Chief Election Commissioner Justice (retd) Sardar Muhammad Raza, and Khattak was represented by his counsel Bashir Mohmand.
The counsel of the senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader maintained that the words used were "unintentional" and Khattak has expressed regret for the same. ECP asked for a video of Khattak apologising for his actions as evidence.

The next hearing has been scheduled for August 9.
Earlier, PTI was yet to decide a name for a K-P chief minister, party heavyweight Khattak was said to be exercising all his might to bag the coveted position for a second term.
On Monday, Khattak gathered 42 newly elected representatives of the K-P assembly who secured their seats on PTI ticket at the Speaker House in Peshawar to show his ‘strength’ to his competitors for the CM slot.
