Bollywood is on a biopic high. The new trend seems to have taken the industry by storm but many of its biggest stars have come forth stating that unlike Sanjay Dutt, they would not like a film to be made on their life. Despite doing great business at the box office, Sanju was highly criticised for white washing the controversial actor's life, reported Hindustan Times.

Earlier, Salman Khan was asked if he would like a film made on his life but he said no. Now, Akshay Kumar has come forward stating the same.

In an interview, Kumar said, "I will never make a biopic on myself or write a book. There are so many amazing stories in history like Tapan Das (Kumar's character in his upcoming film Gold), Arunachalam Muruganantham which inspired Padman. They steered India in a positive direction."

Kumar continued that he would be a fool to make a film on himself.  "It will be a shallow thing to do. I want to make a biopic on real heroes instead of reel heroes."

Bollywood has been releasing biopics one after the other. Films such as Super 30, Manto, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, The Accidental Prime Minister and stories on Olympic champion Abhinav Bindra and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have already been lined up for release.

When questioned if the industry is producing too many biopics, Kumar replied, "It is a known fact in Bollywood that if something works, almost everyone does the same thing. If a few films fails, everyone will run after something else."
