Accident: Five killed as jeep plunges into ravine

GILGIT: Five persons were killed when a jeep fell into a deep ravine near Kargah on Thursday. The district administration spokesperson Shahid Ali told APP that the jeep was on its way from Kargah to Gilgit when the driver lost control of the vehicle while taking a sharp turn and fell into the ravine killing six of the 11 passengers on board on the spot. The remaining five people were stranded in the ravine with minor injuries till last reports came in. An operation to rescue them was underway, Ali said.
