The dead included two children and policemen, while 41 others were injured in the attack on Wednesday morning.
Five suicide bombers killed as brazen attack on FC Quetta centre foiled
The FIR of the suicide attack was lodged on behalf of CTD Inspector Abdul Khaliq against unidentified terrorists.
The terrorist group Islamic State claimed responsibility of the suicide attack on the polling station.
CTD DIG Aitzaz Goraya said, “The suicide bomber was attempting to penetrate the polling station, but due to heavy presence of security forces he blew his suicide vest near the security personnel guarding the masses.”

Quetta DIG Abdul Razzaq Cheema was visiting the polling station at Bhosa Mandi area of Quetta’s Eastern Bypass when the attack occurred. Many believe that Cheema was the target of the suicide bomber.
“Not only high-ups of the police force, but we all are being targeted by terrorists for the last many years. However, the moral of our force is high and we are standing shoulder-to-shoulder with our security forces,” Goraya added.
Caretaker Balochistan Chief Minister Alauddin Marri and interim Minister for Home and Tribal Affairs Agha Umar Bangulzai condemned the attack and lauded the sacrifice of the security forces in protecting the lives and properties of the masses.
CM Marri visited the Civil Hospital, Quetta’s trauma centre to inquire after the health of a child injured in the attack.
