CBM thrash SZABIST in All-Star Championship

Usman scores brace in football tournament as team wins 5-1.

KARACHI:

Szabist lost their second match in the IBA-United All Star Championship after suffering an embarrassing 5-1 loss against CBM on the second day of the tournament.

CBM struck early when Zain penetrated through Szabist’s defence to put his team 1-0 up in the 18th minute.

Waleed equalised five minutes later but that was the last success CBM had before Asim and Waleed scored in the 31st and 35th minutes.

At half-time, trailing 3-1, Szabist were down and out. There was no respite as Usman Iqbal struck, stretching CBM’s lead and putting the game beyond Szabist’s reach.

Iqbal scored again two minutes later and made the scoreline 5-1 as CBM registered a thumping win.

IBA United take on AKU in the next match of the tournament at the KMC ground today.
