Intellectual Rights: Efforts on to increase IPO presence

Separate IPO sections will be established in customs and police departments.

ISLAMABAD: Intellectual Property Organisation (IPO) will establish separate IPO sections in customs and police departments to ensure prompt legal actions against any violation of trademarks, patents and copyrights. The IPO sections would be established on the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) guidelines. Enforcement agencies of IPO would be strengthened with technical support and orientation courses, a IPO official said. He added that numerous steps were being adopted to improve the efficiency of IP officials.
