Police recover 11 kidnapped people from Kacha area

Notorious criminal Nadir Sukhani killed during shootout

BAHAWALPUR: Regional Police Officer Muhammad Faisal Rana has said that police force has shown extraordinary valour and professionalism in Rahim Yar Khan’s Kacha. He lauded the efforts to recover 11 people who were kidnapped a few days ago.

He added that during the operation, notorious bandit Nadir Sukhani was also killed.

While providing detsils, the RPO told Express News that 11 cattle farmers were kidnapped from Abadpur’s area of Kacha Mahazi when on their way back from buying animals.



He said when Rahim Yar Khan police was informed about the incident, DPO Muhammad Athar Waheed immediately established pickets throughout the area as the criminals were present in the riverbed region.

He said police officials devised a strategy and took action for the recovery of the abducted cattle farmers.

The official maintained that police and other law enforcement agencies raided a hide-out in the jurisdiction of Bangla Acha police station and managed to free the abductees after a brief encounter. He said during the shootout, wanted bandit Nadir Sukhani was killed.

The deceased was wanted in 11 criminal cases including armed robbery and other crimes.

RPO Faisal Rana pointed out that the bandit was also wanted in the killing of Acha Bangla Station House Officer Muhammad Hanif Ghauri in 2016.



He elaborated that the killing of Nadir Sukhani will discourage other criminals operating in the area. Meanwhile, those abducted were identified as Jam Kora, Talib Hussain, Khan Muhammad, Shafiq Ahmad, Ghulam Haider, Ghulam Mustafa, Bakshuenda, Jam Doda, Aashiq, Rafiq Ahmad and Hassan Baksh.

DPO Muhammad Athar Waheed appreciated the efforts of police officials in the successful operation. He said that safety of people’s lives and property was the first priority of the police force and such operations will continue against the criminals without discrimination.
